Beisbol for Reid

We have had a super busy week, fun but really busy.  Between school, homework, and play its been a little tough to get pictures downloaded and sit down at the lap top.

Anyway, a quick update tonight and then more tomorrow.

From Monday 6.27.2016 - Beisbol
In the stands  watching the preceding game awaiting Reid's game.
Our friend, Edgar, found a team for Reid to play on.  Initially, we thought it was a practice with kids his age but it was actually a team of adults, maybe one 18 year old.  Monday evening we met with Edgar who took us to the game.  They were very welcoming to the young guero (blonde, light-skinned kid).  Reid also found that although he understood very little, he did start picking up on a few phrases used for baseball like "Pasame el casco." (Pass me the helmet).  It was lots of fun but didn't start until around 7 or 7:30 so it was nearly 11 by the time they finished!  Yikes.

It's amazing how the sun and heat changes the hours of the day in which life is lived...  Mostly people start later and stay up later - we're not really used to that so we'll see how it goes.

Reid at bat.  Notice the ump stands behind and to the left (from batters perspective) of the pitcher.
I'm not sure how accurate his calls are from there, but everyone seems to be okay with it!

  1. What a cool thing! Reid can now say he was on a Mexican team what a great adventure!
